Nov2007 It Bites have delayed recording their new album until December.

The date was put back two months for several reasons.
John Beck has been recovering from a shoulder injury which has had an impact on the writing and obviously the recording.
The band were one song short before recording could begin although they have been working on new material for the new album with John Beck  able to function with one hand.

A sample from the demo "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" and "Oh My God" can be listened to in the second part of Bob Dalton's interview ;

John Mitchell is delighted to endorse 'Cort Guitars' and anyone who was at the Summer's End Festival will know why as his guitar sounded better than ever!

After the concert the name 'Roger Smith' was pulled out of a hat and one lucky person from the audience went home with a brand new signed Cort Guitar and case!

February 2007 After the December 2006 Tour the band made the following statement which appeared on the front page of this site;

Thank-you all....
"Hi all. Now that the rehearsals and the gigs are finished I’m pleased to finally post a message on the website on behalf of the band, not only does this confirm that we do read the posts, but most importantly we want to thank you for your overwhelming support at the recent shows. As you can imagine, we really had no idea how many people would still want to see It Bites after a 15 year break and the addition of John Mitchell.

It was great reading all the pre-gig speculation and to a lesser extent some of this was shared by the band. However, once the rehearsals started, John Mitchell really proved his ability to both play and sing the old songs. Within three days we’d played through the set comfortably which gave us time to actually enjoy performing it and time to build our confidence to turn out a good, solid, live show.

However, what we didn’t know until the first live show was how we would perform as a live band and how John Mitchell would be received by the fans. However, not only did he sing and play the songs note perfect, old and new, but his warmth and enthusiasm really shone through and made a big impact on the band and the audience a like. The feedback we’ve had has confirmed that John isn’t just filling someone else’s shoes but he’s put It Bites right back on the scene with great style and confidence.

We’re all feeling great knowing that we have a good strong band and really looking forward to making a new album in 2007. In the meantime we’ll be making a compilation CD from the gigs as well as a picture book which will have photos from the rehearsals through to the last gig in Manchester. Both will be on sale in the New Year along with tour merchandise for those who couldn’t make any of the shows. We’re planning some more tour dates early in the New Year and writing will continue in the background until we have enough material for the new album.

I hope this answers some of your questions about our schedule for the next few months. Thanks again for all the posts on the forum, they’re all welcome. The speculation and criticism have kept us on our toes, as well as informed, and the funny comments have kept us laughing too. Your loyal support has played a key part in the re-launching of It Bites and we couldn’t have done it without you! A heart felt thank you.

Wishing you a very  successful New Year.

All the best".

Bob and It Bites.
